Karl Frost is currently an Erasmus Mundus Postdoctoral Fellow in political ecology at the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona.  He holds a PhD in Ecology (emphasis in Environmental Policy and Human Ecology) from the University of California, Davis (2016), as well as an MFA in Dramatic Arts from UC Davis (2011) and a BA in Physics from UC Berkeley (1992).  His doctoral dissertation explored the dynamics of ritual-facilitated altruism and cooperation through both behavioral experiments and cultural evolution models.

Originally, he was funded to come and do research in support of his dissertation in northern British Columbia.  However, he realized to do a respectful job of covering such important and complex dynamics and histories required more time.  After 3 years of research, interviews, and participation, he now considers that he can possibly start to share something useful without messing it up too much.  He still has a lot to learn.

Frost is also an experimental theater director via his company, Body Research Physical Theaterand travels internationally teaching the movement practice of contact improvisation.
